Understanding APK Package Variants & OEM Throttling Bypass

Why does DroidDeck publish multiple APK variants with different package names? All four builds share identical code, ARM64 Proton binaries, and features. Here is why package spoofing matters for your device's framerate and thermals.

    The OEM Thermal Throttling Problem

Android phone manufacturers (Samsung, Xiaomi, OnePlus, Vivo, Oppo) use aggressive background power daemons like Samsung GOS and Xiaomi Game Turbo. When an unknown app package launches heavy 3D translation workloads, the OS classifies it as an unverified background workload, violently downclocks the GPU, and forces display refresh rates down to 60 Hz.

    How Package Spoofing Fixes It

Smartphone manufacturers maintain hardcoded internal whitelists for popular competitive esports titles (e.g. PUBG Mobile com.tencent.ig) and synthetic benchmarks (e.g. AnTuTu com.antutu.benchmark.full). When DroidDeck runs under these package names, the OS automatically unlocks peak sustained GPU frequencies, disables OS frame capping, and engages full 120Hz/144Hz panel refresh.

    Which Variant Should You Choose?

    • Standard Edition: Always start here. Best for Ayn Odin 2, Retroid Pocket, AYANEO, stock Android, and custom ROMs.
    • PUBG Mobile Spoof: Best for Samsung Galaxy, Xiaomi/Poco, and OnePlus phones to force high-priority game mode and 120Hz refresh rate.
    • AnTuTu / Ludashi Spoof: Ideal if your device experiences severe thermal downclocking after 5–10 minutes of gameplay.

    Side-by-Side Coexistence

Because Android identifies installed applications solely by their package_name, each variant installs as its own independent application. You can safely install the Standard APK alongside the PUBG or AnTuTu edition without overwriting either installation, allowing direct side-by-side benchmark testing.

How to Verify Package Authenticity on Android

To ensure your downloaded APK has not been tampered with, you can verify the SHA256 checksum in Termux or an Android terminal:

    sha256sum /sdcard/Download/app-release.apk

Compare the terminal output with the SHA256 checksum provided above. If the hashes match, your installation package is authentic.
